‘Here’s The Girl’, the first single to be taken from Melbourne duo Harmless’ upcoming debut album, Water Feature, is a shining example from the more delicate side of electronic music.
Collaborators Cesar Rodrigues (Blue King Brown) and Monty Mackenzie (Cleverhorse) have weaved together a heady mix of traditional instrumentation, found sounds and loops into this multi-faceted track. An idiomatic collage of diverse and unexpected musical influences, such as Radiohead, Animal Collective and Miles Davies, the track is evocative and engaging. Completing ‘Here’s The Girl’s evolution, Harmless now release the track’s film clip.
A monochromatic masterpiece, the clip was shot and directed by Kess Broekman-Dattner, who was responsible for Kate Vigo’s MusicOz Award winning ‘The Way You Are’. In ‘Here’s The Girl’, Broekman-Dattner has created a sensual and haunting visual statement; the perfect representation of the track’s pathos.
